Thor: Ragnarok – What Happened Next in Thor World

Thor is back this year with a new movie installment. The fans were eagerly waiting for the next release since it was announced in 2014. With an even a bigger star cast and new fresh faces, the new Thor movie did manage to entertain and prove its next installment was worth it.

The new Thor movie Thor: Ragnarok has Kate Blanchet as Hela, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie and Mark Rufallo as the Hulk. Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston came back as the ever popular Thor and Loki. With a new storyline and star caste this movie is full of action, humor and everything you expect from the franchise

Here is a little recap of the movie Thor: Ragnarok

The story of Thor: Ragnarok takes off after two years of Battle of Sokovia. Thor is looking for the Infinity Stones but hasn’t been able locate it so far. He is also has been taken prison by the Fire Demon Surtur. From him Thor becomes aware that his father Odin is no longer in the Asgard, which is due to get doomed by the prophesied Ragnarök. Surtur also informs him that prophesy will come true once he unites his crown with the Eternal Flame that burns in Odin's vault. But Thor successfully defeats Surtur and claims his crown, falsely believing that he has prevented Ragnarök from happening.

Thor returns to Asgard, his home to find that his adopted brother Loki is posing as Odin in the absence of their father. Loki being Loki the stubborn and jealous younger brother posed a little problem but eventually Thor forces him to help him find their father. With the help of Stephen Strange they are able to trace Odin in Norway. Here Thor is told by his father that he is dying and his death will release his first born child Hela from the prison she was put into a long time ago. This happened after Odin felt that she was growing too ambitious and might pose a little problem. After Odin’ s death Hela is set free. She destroys Thor’s hammer Mjolnir and sends both Thor and Loki out into space to die.

Now Hela arrives in Asgard as the new successor and starts destroying its army and the Warriors Three in her wake. She resurrects the army of dead who once fought with her. She plans to expand the Asgard’s empire through the Bifröst, but she thwarted when Heimdall steals the sword that controls the Bridge, and goes into hiding with the rest of the Asgard's citizens.

Thor and Loki land on Sakaar planet. It is a kind of garbage planet with wormholes. Loki has already made friends with the Grandmaster the ruler of the planet. Here Thor meets his old friend Hulk in a gladiator like competition. Thos loses to Hulk. Later, he asks Thor and 142 to help him save Asgard, but they refuse. Thor escapes the place and locates Quinjet that brought Hulk to Sakaar. Hulk comes after Thor where a recording of Natasha Romanoff causes him to transform back into Bruce Banner for the first time since Sokovia. The Grandmaster sends 142 and Loki to find Thor and Hulk, but a disagreement ensues between the two and Loki forces her to relive the deaths of her fellow Valkyrie at the hands of Hela. She decides to help Thor.

Thor, Banner, and 142 escape through a wormhole to Asgard and find Hela's army attacking Heimdall and Asgard's citizens. A full-fledged war ensues where Banner becomes the Hulk again, and Thor faces Hela and loses an eye. He has a vision of Odin and he realizes that the only way to stop Hela is through Ragnarök. Loki unites the Surtur's crown and the Eternal Flame and as a result Surtur is reborn and he destroys Asgard, killing Hela. With nothing left Thor and the rest of the survivors leave Asgard and go to Earth. Thor is finally crowned as the King.
